In an organisation there are in fact a large number of the departments and the streams or the units where the respective work is carried on from the time to time but there are some kind of the works that are to be done as a routine and hence there can be times when the same may get very boring in the nature of the working for the staff member in an organisation. So it becomes very necessary to get the work done in the various ways so that the staff members can do the same with much more activeness and less of the burden. There are the two ways for the same, one is that the same work can be done by the various staff members of the organisation from the time to time as by this the boredom will not creep in the working of the staff members in an organisation but the second way is that the same type of the work can be made to be done in the different ways by changing the ways of the presentation or by asking and then presenting the same thing in the different ways and by this the boredom can be reduced and the level of the productivity and at the same time the level of the accuracy can be increased and all this is not only better for the staff member of an individual but also very productive for the organisation as a whole.
The job rotation can be done and is usually done at the places where the routine work is done at a very usual level and the environment is such that the same can not be modified at any of the time and hence the same type of the work is required to be done in the same way. Here is the scenario where the role of the job rotation is very critical and at the same time very vital in the nature of the working. From that particular time, the concept of the job rotation ahs become very known and the organisations take very keen interest in this process and the special training sessions are done for the staff members and specially for the staff members of an organisation who are at the managerial or the supervisory level, to educate them about all this. In the concept of the job rotation, the staff member has to perform a certain set of the activities but at one time the staff member has to do one kind of the job and after doing it for the some amount of the time, the staff member is shifted from one kind of the job to the other and hence with this the organisation is not at all disturbed as the organisation is getting the work that is required to be done but the same is being done by the various staff members from the time to time and this kind of the process if very good and at the same time very much beneficial not only for the staff member but also for the organisation as a whole.
When the same person does the same kind of the work in the routine, the human nature is such that the person loses the interest in the same and the zeal in the same is lost some where and as a result of all this the staff member is not able to give the best form of the results in the work and all this not only affects the organisation but at the smaller level, the staff member is also affected a lot and this must be checked and the answer to this is the process of the job rotation. The advantages and the disadvantages are just the result of the usage as for some of the staff members of an organisation some of the factors have the power to act as the advantage but at the same time the same factor may act as the disadvantage for any other staff member of an organisation. as discussed earlier too, the level of the boredom is reduced a lot and in fact the same is brought at almost a negligible level and the main result for the same is that the various activities that are to be done in an organisation are diversified a lot and the result of this kind of the diversification is that the monotony that may be present in the whole process is omitted and this in fact is the basic for the whole of the process and this is the one step that makes the process of the job rotation very challenging in the nature of the working and this is in fact the basic point that makes the job rotation goes miles in the nature of the working. The job rotation helps the staff members to increase there respective skills as if the staff members will be working on one seat, they will not be able o learn the various other work and with the help of the job rotation, the staff members become much more equipped in the nature of the working as by moving on various seats and by doing the various work, the staff members get an opportunity to learn the various kinds of the work from the time to time and hence making staff member much more fit for the working in an organisation. Hence the various kinds of the organisations are focussing a lot on the process of the job rotation and have even found the way to get the things back on the track. The staff members of an organisation become very much flexible in the nature of the working as the staff members are now much more adaptive in the nature of doing the different works in an organisation and hence the result of all this is that the staff members are able to adapt to the various kinds of the changes in an organisation that are actually a part and the parcel of the working of an organisation and the result of this that the staff members becoming flexible in the nature makes the organisation as well flexible in the nature.
Also there are times when the staff member working at a specific seat or work is not available due to the various kinds of the reasons, in the normal scenario others will not be knowing his or her work and the result of all this will be that the specific work of that seat will surely suffer but the job rotation is in fact the answer to all this as with the help of the job rotation the staff members get an opportunity to know the work of the other seats as well and in such kind of the situations, it becomes easy for the others to accept the challenge and not allow the work to suffer and take care of that particular seat as well and this helps the organisation to service the people at the new heights as the customers are not faced with any kind of the challenges and are able to go through all of the affairs in the usual manner. As discussed above the staff members are periodically moved from one work to the other but no doubt it reduces the burden but at times it has been observed that the quality of the work is also disturbed as the flow of the staff members in doing the certain kind of the work is disrupted and the result of all this is that the new person that comes in to the picture takes some kind of the time to adjust to the things and this can have the certain kind of the affects on the time factor and the quantity factor and at times in fact the parameter of the quality comes in to the picture. This is the part of the human nature as there are times when the human beings are not ready to accept the changes even at times when the same may be there for the respective benefits and the result of all this is that when one staff member is moved from one work to the other, it becomes difficult at times and the work is affected for the certain span of the time. There are times when the certain staff members who are willing to work at a certain specific position are as a part of the job rotation moved from that place of there interest to the other spots of the working in an organisation, the result of all this is that the staff members of an organisation may loose the interest in the working and may feel demotivated in the nature of the working as there can be times the less deserving people come at the certain positions as a part of the process of the job rotation, which are not totally deserved by them.
The people who are very ambitious in the nature of the working in an organisation and at the same time are very much concerned of the shaping of there respective future are the part of the people who may go down in the scale of the motivation and the ambitions as they are affected by such kind of the movement in an organisation that is done as a part of the job rotation. In an organisation, there are a large number of the staff members who are coming from the different kind of the backgrounds having the different kind of the intelligent quotient with the different types of the educational backgrounds and the result of all this is that the style of the working of each and every staff member of an organisation is different in some way or the other. There are some kind of the staff members who are very willing to accept the different kind of the changes that may come in there respective ways from the time to time but at the same time there are the certain type of the staff members in an organisation who are not willing to accept the changes and are satisfied with the position they are working at and are not thinking of moving any further in the graph of the growth and the development and also in the case of the learning curve. There were times when the process of the job rotation was considered as the process that may help a lot in carrying out the drastic kind of the increase in the level of the motivation in the staff members of an organisation but this is not the case in the process of the job rotation as the motivation can not be permanent in the case of the job rotation as in the next step the seat will again be changed as a result of the job rotation. When the process of the job rotation is initiated, there are chances that the staff members may be motivated to a certain level for the certain period of the time but at the same time it is also very much possible that the other staff member may not be motivated as he or she may not be interested in being moved from one place to the other. So it can be said that there are a lot of the advantages of this process in an organisation but at the same time there are also some kind of the drawbacks of the same and all of these need to be looked in to so that these can be made as the positive points for the staff members of an organisation and also for the organisation as a whole. The level of the satisfaction of the staff members is not affected that much in the cases where the structure of the jobs is such that the same is not that appealing and also at the same time is not that interesting that it may have the power to affect the working of the staff members and also have a affect on the morale and the level of the satisfaction of the staff members in an organisation. The various kinds of the research work that has been done in the various parts of the world by the various researchers very clearly suggest that the job enlargement and the job rotation have been seen to having the same kind of the results and the affects on the working of the staff members in an organisation and with the respective uses depending on the kind of the organisations and its working it is very necessary to understand the scenario of the working in the organisation and in aspect of all these things it is required to carry on with the plan. In an organisation it is very necessary to know the various things and then analyse that what is going wrong in the whole process of the working and then according to that one must try to understand the reason behind the same and then only the solution must be analysed and then only one must proceed as any process like the job rotation must not be carried out without any proper use and must not be initiated just as a reason that the same has to be done.
