What are the Networks of Communication?

The communication in fact occurs between one person to the other from time to time and in the various forms depending on the situations prevailing and as per the requirements and in the course of all this, the over all process of the communication forms the network and in the general terms these are very often referred to as the communication networks. The same scenario occurs every where starting from the home of an individual to the office or any other type of the work station in any kind of the organisation. In an organisation the network of the communication is formed between when the communication takes place between the various members of the organisation and these contacts between the members forms the communication network. With the help of the communication network one can very easily define the pattern of the contacts of the various staff members in an organisation. The proper type of the network helps in getting the best of the accuracy, speed along with the smoothness when the information is transferred from one end to the other in an organisation. According to the various forms of the research work that has been done in this regard at the various times and in the various parts of the world very clearly suggests the fact that the network of the communication must be tried to be kept as short as possible as when ever there is the long form of the communication network, the movement of the information form one part to the other is affected a lot and hence in the other words it can be said that the flow of the communication can be delayed at the times if in the cases there are the communication networks that are very long in the nature of the existence.

On the other hand it can also be said that if the network of the communication is narrow in the nature of the existence then also the flow of the communication can be blocked and the main reason for all this can be said to be the less space or the conducive environment for the proper movement of the communication from one end to the other. One more scenario that can be observed is that if there is a large amount of the holes or in the other words the points by which the filtration can take place, the whole process of the communication can in such a scenario be distorted in the nature. So the various kind of the research work that has been done at the various times and the facts and the figures that have come in to the lime light very clearly suggest and also support the fact that the information can be moved from one end to the other in the best possible way when the same takes the shortest time to do so and in the shortest duration of the time, the quality of the communication and hence as a result of all this the quality that is of the network of the communication that is formed is of the very best quality that in specific initiates the going on of the movement of the information. Depending on all these kind of the factors, the network of the communication can be of the several types and these are namely the chain network, circular network, wheel network, all channels or the free flow network. All the various forms of the communication network differ in there respective a movement from time to time and all this gives the rise to the various types of the network of the communication. In the chain network, the flow of the information takes place in such a way that the message that is needed to be transferred moves in a line that is in fact very direct vertical in the nature and that too is in the scalar chain of the command and this is a kind of the network where the flow of the information can be from the top level to the below levels of the hierarchy or in the other words where the employee at the superior level moves the message to the subordinates and the same can take place in the opposite way as well by the movement of the message taking place from the lower level of the hierarchy to the above levels of the hierarchy that is the movement is from the lower levels of the hierarchy to the above levels of the hierarchy. The main point that comes out in this type of the network is that there is no kind of the horizontal movement here and every message takes place in the vertical form as explained above.

After this kind of the network comes the turn of the circular network. As the name suggests the flow of the information here is in fact in the circular form as the messages flow in the circular ways. This kind of the network allows the person to get in touch with more than the 1 person and hence the individual here is able to transfer the information to more than 1 person at the same time and this in fact is the main difference between the circular networks of the communication to the chain network of the communication. The communication can not be in the same direction as the individual here will be able to transfer the information to the individual one on the left side and the other on the right side. But the main point here is that the flow of the movement of the messages is very slow compared to the various other types of the networks of the communication. After this comes the turn of the Wheel network, which is another form of the network of the communication and also has many different points separating the same from the circular network as well as from the chain network.

In the case of the Wheel network of the communication, imagine the shape and the structure of a wheel, in the wheel there is a hub in the centre that is in fact giving the required support to the to the wheel and helps to handle the momentum that is created in the wheel. The same is the case in the wheel network of the communication as here is a hub that is controlling the various other parts of the wheel. At the hub there is an employee working as a manager or the supervisor who acts the one controlling all the various members in the working, the manager is at the central controlling place of the network but the main point that needs to be understood here is that the various employees who are working in this type of the system have no power to talk among themselves and the result of all this is that the various staff members have to work and transfer the information with the help of the manager who acts as the central point of the communication. The manager who is at the hub is the one who is getting the instructions from the top management of an organisation and then is the one who is further guiding the staff members of a particular segment or the unit of an organisation to get the desired work done as required by the top management of an organisation and help in the achievement of the goals and the objectives of an organisation that have been pre set with the help of the pre set vision of an organisation. The manager is the one who is getting the instructions from the top management and then the manager is the one who is giving the instructions further and this is the way the things go on in this type of the model of the communication. After this further is the turn of the Free Flow network and this type of the model is also referred to as the all channel model and as the name suggests there is no kind of the restrictions here and is an open channel of the communication.

Here the different people that are involved at the various levels of the organisation need not follow any kind of the restriction and all are free to move in any kind of the direction and share the views between them. The various people involved in the working are free to share any point between them and the flow of the information is not at all restricted and the same can move in any direction between them. The employees involved in this kind of the system are very free to take the talk between any of then involved in the system and hence in the other words it can be said that the information flows from the various ends to the various ends in the various directions as per the requirements. The flow of the information and the communication can take place at any point of the time between any of the persons involved. So in the other words it can be said that the flow of the information here is very informal in the nature as the arrangement here is not at all structured and the result of this is that the information can be transferred from one end to the other having the free flow of the movement from the various ends to the various ends, taking the communication further.
