It is the choice of the consumer of a product or the service that a particular type of the company offers to its consumer. Any type of the business with a wide array of the available choices is often considered to have a wide selection. Putting out a good selection of the various types of the products will make it more likely that a customer finds some thing that they want to buy. The process of the selection was a lot easier than is appears to be as obvious, it is to put the best people forward from the selected ones. The process of the selection is actually an act or the instance of selecting or the state of being selected, the choice. It is a thing or the no of the things that have been selected. It is an aggregate of the things that are displayed for the choice, the purchase, and the use etc, a group from which a choice may be made. The selection is the process or the act of the selecting or the state of being selected. It is actually a natural or the artificial process that results or tends to result in the survival and the propagation of some of the individuals or the organisms but not of the others with the result that the inherited traits of the various types of the survivors are perpetuated.
The process of the selection involves a large amount of the steps that are to be followed for choosing the person that is suitable for the job that is vacant. This process starts with the recruitment and then divides the candidates in the two parts, one those will be offered the job and second those will not be. There is a great need for the completely organised process of the selection as only then the correct and the right type of the individual can be selected and the candidates those who are not suitable can be rejected. The process of the selection can never be the same as the requirements at the various places according to the various types of the organisations keep on changing. Hence it can be said that the process of the selection varies from the company to the company and even from the department to the department in the same organisation. In some of the companies, the medical examination is done after the final selection while in some other companies; the medical examination may be at times done before the final selection. So it can be said that the process of the selection may vary from one company to the other and there are no hard and the fast rules for carrying on with the process of the selection and these are made according to the requirement so the various types of the companies depending on the type of the company, the working conditions etc.
The process of the selection consists of the 5 different aspects of the ruling, the criteria development. It is very important that the all the individuals that are involved in the process of the hiring should be very properly trained in the aspects of the inter viewing that involves the developing criteria, reviewing the different types of the resumes that have been received for the hiring, then developing the questions of the inter view and then at the last weighting the various types of the candidates. It is very important to find out the candidates who are interested in the jobs of the particular profile and then after this choosing the best and the most suitable candidate, this is the exact meaning of the process of the selection. The process of the selection normally involves the preliminary inter view, then the process of the selection is said to be started with this process and it forms the most critical part of the human resource management. The process of the selection or the whole procedure of the selection involves the series of the steps that are to be followed for appointing or choosing the right type of the person for the job or the place in the company that is lying vacant. After the process of the recruitment, the process of the selection follows this step and then divides the participants in the two parts. One part is the parts that involves that include the ones who will be getting the jobs and the other is the one who will not be getting the jobs. All this process involves the well organised process of the selection as if all this is done in the right phased manner then only the right group of the candidates can be selected. If any point of the time one tends to be biased, it will not only affect that particular person personally but will Affect the whole group or the department and then the whole company in some aspects as well. So this part is very critical of going through the whole process in a very well mannered way and all this should be done by the good supporting people who tend to work in a very serious way with out coming under any type of the pressure that may be exerted from the various types of the sources on an individual or as a whole group. The main steps of the process of the selection can be summed up as the following –
The preliminary interview – The selection process is said to be started with the taking up of the preliminary inter view where the applicants who are totally unsuitable for the job are eliminated. As a result of the elimination at the very first step, the expenses of the processing of the applicant through the various steps of the selection that are to be taken up by the company are saved.
